Welcome to TouchPoints, the newsletter that breaks down marketing collateral from top SAAS brands for inspiration and analysis.

Observations
I can’t speak to the performance of Coda’s Linkedin ad above, but it feels as though it violates a fundamental principle of marketing: inviting comparison.
It’s quite possible that in Coda’s case, Notion’s name recognition and category dominance make it beneficial to position as “the #1 Notion Alternative.”
But I can’t help but think that the folks over at Notion are laughing all the way to the bank, as Coda runs an ad with Notion’s name in it.
Any Questions?
